Old Pulteney 30 yo

Edinburgh Whisky Blog has received information about a new bottling of Old Pulteney. The long awaited 30 yo is due to be out on the shelves this year. When exactly? We don’t know yet but we are working hard to find out.

Our source claims the whisky is “stupidly good” and offers “everything you would expect from a 30 yo; depth, complexity and charisma”. We just can’t wait to get our hands on it.

As you know I am a bit of a peat junkie and überlight whiskies have to be spectacular in order to awe me. But the two big boys of Inver House Distillers, Old Pulteney and Balblair, bottle whisky that is absolutely faultless, I love everything they have in their portfolios. I realise that having said that I just raised the bar for Old Pulteney 30 yo by another few inches in my own eyes. But you know what? That doesn’t really matter, I’m confident this bottling will clear even the worst snob’s bar by miles.

  1. Just managed to try the 12 year!! Value for money eh?

Thanks for all your help and advice last weekend at the Whisky Experience! (I was in with a friend, Enjoying Macallan 18 yo)

Great Blog, shall keep an eye on it as I try to learn more about Whisky!

    All the best!

  2. Hello,

Did you get a chance to try the 17 year-old ‘peated’ Old Pulteney? They didn’ peat the barley but used a Laphroiag cask by mistake.

  3. Not tried that yet but sounds intriguing!

  4. I think a peated Old Pulteney sounds cracking. What a mistake to make though!
