Struggling for Valentine’s Ideas? Buy whisky

Valentines bottling

If you are struggling with what to buy your beloved this Valentine’s Day (officially the most expensive of card holidays), maybe consider this:

‘It was love at first sniff for the Panel: the nose brimming with chocolate, fruits (orange especially), and just a hint of cigar smoke. The love affair continued on the tongue with the neat taste a heady
mix of dark chocolate, orange and molasses and a long, silken vanillin-oak finish. One Panellist likened the experience to cramming an entire box of chocolates into your mouth, foils and all. With water
the nose mellowed but remained warm and welcoming, oozing caramel and butter notes. The reduced taste was beautifully balanced and smooth, with the Panel finding hard toffee, vanilla bean, pine and orange pekoe tea.

Drinking tip: Enjoy it with loved ones; Colour: Gold foil; Cask: First fill hogshead; Age: 13 years; Outturn 298 bottles; Region: Highland Northern; Date Distilled: June 1995′

What is this Whisky? Well it is a special release from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It’s called ‘A Chocolate Valentine’. It costs £54 pounds and there are 36 bottles remaining. I personally think it sounds amazing! I will definitely be waiting and hoping for a bottle on Valentine’s Day.

Due to the price tag, my general dislike of Valentine’s Day and also, to a certain degree, my sexual orientation, you won’t be getting one from me this year, dude. But don’t lose hope, I’m sure there is someone out there who likes you enough. A secret admirer maybe?

  1. “One Panellist likened the experience to cramming an entire box of chocolates into your mouth, foils and all.” Er, is this a good thing?! Foils aggravate my fillings, so I’m afraid they lost me there…

  2. Not a big fan of the foils either:P

  3. mmm foil :p
