New Year Bars

Travelling to Edinburgh for New Year?  Not keen on standing on Princes Street, as the temperature plummets below zero and the alcohol becomes scarcer and scarcer?  Here is my advice: Find a bar with an excellent selection of whisky, that’s nice and warm and has good food on offer. Get a comfy seat and have a relaxed beginning to 2010.

This is where Lucas and I can help. Here is a reminder of some of the best bars Lucas and I have visited in 2009.

If you need to find any of these bars, Lucas developed a couple of maps.

Leslie’s Bar

Our favourite local pub. No frills, lovely people, a cheap dram. Again bit off the beaten track, but I’ll bet it’ll be a cracking New Year in Leslie’s. Some of our best nights out have been in this venue.

Chinaski’s

Next year, Lucas and I are going to spend a fair bit more time in Glasgow. Some very good Whisky bars and some great people. We might even get Richard Patterson out for a drink. If you are in Glasgow, and fancy a cracking bourbon bar, checkout are guest blogger, Euans’ excellent review of Chinaski’s.
