A couple of quick drams at the Vintner’s Rooms

Fettercairn 8year old

1982 bottled 1990

Nose:Rum raisin, cream, blood oranges, peaches. About a million times better than the recent Fettercairn bottling
Palate: brown sugar, oranges, caramel, tangerines, peaches.

Bloody hell Mr Paterson, get this back!

Ardbeg 21 (Sestante white bottling)

1978 bottled 2000

Nose:oaky, pepper, musty, cigar, oily. The musty nature of the nose makes me want to stop right there. I hate mustiness. It’s an off note I don’t appreciate.
Palate:sour, oaky, leather,

Nope, not for me. Nose alone would make me want to re distill it. Palate is dull.

Who would have bet on it? Fettercairn 8 destroying Ardbeg 21. Crazy!
